Phoenix Festival of Dance 2023 wrap up

Wow! We’ve loved our week at Phoenix Festival this year and we are so proud of all our students growth and their outstanding performances. Every dancer has worked so hard in class and rehearsals on their technique and the quality of their routines. You were all an absolute joy to watch and you left everything out there on the stage.

We loved seeing all your beautiful smiles and encouragement of each other even when there were no prizes. The JOKSOD spirit was high this week and the camaraderie and support was felt amongst everyone. There were so many breathtaking moments on stage and equally as special moments off stage witnessed with our dancers and teachers very special support and encouragement of each other.

Our teachers have been absolutely incredible with their commitment to the rehearsals, choreography and support of all the dancers in preparation for the competition and throughout. A big thank you to all the teachers, Jess, Georgia, Hope, Ella & Tess for all you do and for being here for our students this week. A special thank you to Amy who has stepped in to help with all Tina’s solos and classes this term, you’ve been absolutely invaluable.

A massive thank you to Zan, our biggest supporter sitting through all the performances this week and always on hand to help with anything we need and a huge encouragement to all the dancers.

Thank you to our incredible JOKSOD family - we are so lucky to have such a wonderful community. Well done to all the families and everything you do for your dancers. Your committed to the dance school and driving your children along to every rehearsal and costume fitting and regular class over the last two terms, plus all the organisation of costumes and accessories needed is amazing and we are so grategul. The standard of our dancers on that stage really shone from the commitment you gave to them for their dance training.

So grateful to all our wonderful parent helpers for all the support you’ve given in preparation and during the competition week. A special thank you to Sharon who is an absolute gem getting all our costumes organised – such a huge task! A big thank you to Cameron and Rachel for distributing our huge props to and from the theatre.

We are so lucky to have such a beautiful culture within our community, with so much support and love for one another. It has been so heart-warming to witness this over the last week, with past students coming back to help and support alongside all the JOKSOD dancers supporting each other. This is what we are most proud of!
