OUR HIDDEN TREASURE: ZAN O’KELLY

We’d love to introduce everyone to the true heart and hero at JOKSOD, my mum Zan. Without her we could not possibly operate as a successful studio.

Zan does so much for everyone as well as me and I wanted to dedicate a blog post to her, because I cannot thank her enough for all that she does.

To start with Zan is the person who keeps our business running, with all the admin and finances. She is the first port of call for all our parents with questions and manages everything with a smile on her face. Zan organises all of our uniforms for families, taking orders, picking up deliveries and distributing to everyone.

When the students are waiting for their classes, Zan is the person who keeps an eye on everyone taking care of them and making sure they are ready for their next class. She knows every single student by name and makes sure they are all included and comfortable. She's also an incredible support to our teachers who rely on her for advice.

During our last competition, Zan sat in the audience watching every single student shine on stage and providing additional support to all the dancers when needed. This is something she does at all our Eisteddfods. She's also instrumental in helping with costume design, material and trim shopping and assisting our costume ladies with everything they require to get us ready for competition time.

We just got back from Sydney for the Lucie Saronova Awards and Zan was there right by my side as we supported Sam through the prestigious event. Saying that she goes above and beyond is an understatement.

Add to this the incredible support she gives me every single day. Running a business is not always easy and I simply could not do what I do without her.

Mum, words cannot go far enough to thank you and tell you how much I appreciate you - you're the wind beneath my wings!

You truly are our hidden treasure and we are so lucky to have you.

Love, Jo x
