School of Dance - General Information
PARENTS WATCHING - There will be 2 watching days for pre-school and beginner classes and 1 for all other classes for the year. Parents will be notified via our facebook page or noticeboard of these watching days. The watching day allows parents ONLY to monitor their child's progress. Parents of younger children may sit in the studio for the first week, only if the child requires it.
FACILITIES We have a purpose built properly equipped ballet studio which includes a foyer and waiting area, dressing rooms, male and female toilets, fully equipped kitchen, an attic for costume storage, Pilates room, 2 studios with sprung floors, mirrors and barres. The studio is set on one and a half acres and surrounding this is a native reserve, a creek and busy Cranbourne-Frankston Rd. Parents please keep your younger children closely monitored in these surroundings. Children who are not in a class must stay within the building or may sit on the grass area directly in front of the studio. NO responsibility will be taken for children wandering past these boundaries.
CAR PARK At some times the car park may become very crowded. We encourage parents of older children to drop their children off on these days. PARKING IS ONLY PERMITTED IN THE DESIGNATED BAYS. Please do not park in the drive way, holding up the flow of traffic for other people. If the carpark is full you may park over the road at Coles and walk across at the traffic lights. Thank-you, for your co-operation.
CANTEEN - Our school canteen and school uniform shop is run by volunteer mums. The school's classical and jazz uniform may be ordered through the uniform shop. Snacks, drinks, tea, coffee, lunches on Saturday as well as other goodies are available from our ballet store. Please support our canteen as it is one of our main fundraisers for our costumes and is run by volunteers.

All information and any updates will be placed on this private page.
All students that are part of our Competition team will be required to join "JOKSOD Comp Team" as of February 2017. All newsletters and all information will be posted on this page.
WEBSITE - All other information will be on our webpage www.joanneokellyschoolofdance.com.au . Parents/students will be given a code to access information on our website. Enrolment forms, troupe contracts, uniform lists etc and other forms may be downloaded from this site.
SOCIAL MEDIA It is against JOKSOD rules for parents to contact other teachers through social media or any other forum for any reason. All parents should contact Principal Miss Joanne O'Kelly or Zandra O'Kelly to discuss any concerns.
LATECOMERS Please try to be punctual as late comers disrupt the flow of the class and the concentration of fellow students. It can be quiet stressful for younger students when they are placed in a class late.
STUDENTS PROGRESS - If you would like to discuss your Child's progress with a teacher, please make an appointment with Zandra. NO parents are to enter the studios in-between classes unless they have an appointment, as it holds up the next class. Thank-you for your understanding.
SOLO LESSONS Students are to arrive at least 15min. before a solo to warm-up and practice before their scheduled time. Please notify us in advance if you are to miss your lesson otherwise a full fee will apply.
